Billy Corgan got a songwriting credit on the Miguel record, because a track sounds like "1979." God knows he would've sued. Billy's temperamental. "La Dolly Vita" came out on the 1994 b-side/rarity collection Pisces Iscariot. He covers Fleetwood Mac on it.

Bossanova is underrated. Black Francis once said "Dig For Fire" was "a bad Talking Heads imitation," which is selling himself a little short. The original single featured a cover of Neil Young's "Winterlong" as a b-side.
Jane's Addiction was in Seattle late last month, playing tracks off Nothing's Shocking. Maybe Perry snuck a Porno for Pyros cut in there, who's to say. Porno for Pyros' debut LP was released following the departure of Dave Navarro & Eric Avery from Jane's Addiction.

A Flock of Seagulls' "Wishing (If I Had a Photograph of You)" was a big hit in the UK & South Africa, unlike their other singles. They won a Grammy Award for Best Rock Instrumental Performance in 1983 for their track "DNA."

According to a recent interview, Marty Friedman of Megadeth would rather chew glass than listen to Jimi Hendrix. That's right- he would rather have his gums bleed than listen to Jimi. This may be an exaggeration, but let's hope someone tests the validity of this statement.
Colored vinyl editions of Currents have reportedly sold out, which is a shame. I've heard it sounds completely different on orange vinyl. The cover art is reportedly based on a diagram of a vortex shredding. Google it.

There are no girls in Girl Band. No girls, but lots of INTENSE feelings & guitar chords. The Irish band will release their full-length debut on Rough Trade on 9/25. Shows throughout Europe planned for the foreseeable future.
