Finally SOMEONE figures out that Beach House sound the same as Cocteau Twins. (No disrespect). Beach House's new album is titled Depression Cherry- clear Cocteau Twins reference, c'mon- & comes in a fuzzy red album cover.
HOT new Tamaryn. The band's latest LP, Cranekiss, will be released on August 28th (10 days, if you're keeping track). They stopped by KEXP back in July, because that's just what happens sometimes: www.kexp.org.
When recording Kaleidoscope, Siouxsie & co. adapted the proto-Unrest style of making every sound completely different, without regard for whether it could be performed live. Robert Smith (Cure man) & Paul Weller (Jam dude) both loved it.
Perhaps you know Medicine from their cameo performance in The Crow, in which they played this track (which features Liz Fraser on vocals). The band continues to release new music, including records in 2013 & 2014.

Dead Can Dance concerts must feature so much free-form dancing, it's not even funny. Into the Labyrinth was Dead Can Dance's first record where Brendan Perry & Lisa Gerrard lived far apart & wrote music independently. (Perry was living on an island in a river in Ireland.)
The new Chromatics album- Dear Tommy- will come out someday. Chances are it'll be pretty excellent. It's possible that Ryan Gosling placed a moratorium on the record after Johnny Jewel scored his directorial debut Lost River, as he clearly has that level of power.

Despite Benjamin Curtis's death in 2013, School of Seven Bells will release a new LP- Curtis's portion was completely recorded before his death. This track comes from the group's debut album, Alpinisms.
German electronic group Ms. John Soda (featuring Notwist member Micha Acher) will release their first record since 2006 in October. The band's debut LP No P. Or D. was ranked the 45th best record of 2003 by P4K, if you were wondering.

5.9 on Pitchfork. Big Troubles' Romantic Comedy release was produced by Mitch Easter (of R.E.M.'s Murmur/ Let's Active fame). Lots of Jawbox/ Death Cab/ the Smiths homages, according to reviews.

Lon Gisland was Zach's first EP following the success of his debut album, Gulag Orkestar. It came out when he was 20, which is further proof that I will never achieve anything in life. He played a set on The Morning Show recently, which isn't online yet.
