So many middle school feels going on right now. Death Cab's playing three shows at The Paramount (10/3-5), supported by TacocaT, Unlikely Friends & Cataldo. Also, Ben Gibbard was at that last Chastity Belt show, which is pretty cool.
Foals going all stadium rock- no disrespect sounds good, guys. New LP- What Went Down- out on August 28th. We can presume the title refers to Yannis feuding with David Guetta.
Bono said this track's about losing everything, but still finding joy in what you have. That dude's pretty sincere. All That You Can't Leave Behind was produced by Eno & Daniel Lanois. The Edge is a big fan of Ambient 3: Day of Radiance.

Justine Frischmann was in Suede before she ditched and formed Elastica, if you were wondering. Suede's self-titled LP debuted at No.1 on the UK Charts, also winning the Mercury Music Prize for that year. "Animal Nitrate" was their highest charting single in Ireland.

Watched a friend try to sing this for karaoke once. "Immigrant Song" was written after a tour date in Reykjavík, Iceland- Robert Plant was really inspired by the ice & stuff. Hence all the lyrics about ice.
According to a friend, Matt Berninger drinks on average two bottles of wine during a typical National concert. Hence his enunciation. Alligator came out 10 years ago. Robert Christgau still hates it.
Wolf Alice is insanely good live. And they're all beautiful, which is an added bonus. They played a set on KEXP back in March before the release of My Love Is Cool: blog.kexp.org.
Bloc Party's Silent Alarm came out 10 years ago. This track was reportedly inspired by a remix of The Smith's "There is a Light That Never Goes Out" that the band heard. It peaked at No. 3 on the UK Charts.

Doe Paoro's music is heavily inspired by Lhamo, an ancient Tibetan opera form. New album, After, will be released on September 25th. Some tracks produced by Justin Vernon (Bonny Bear).
Noonday Underground was one part DJ Simon Dine (Adventures in Stereo) & one part Daisy Martey (former vocalist for Morcheeba). This track comes from their sophomore effort, titled Self Assembly.
Watched the Magical Mystery Tour movie as a kid & I'm still confused about what was going on. The script was apparently improvised on the spot, which is not a surprise whatsoever. It aired on Boxing Day in 1967. At least I know how I'm celebrating Boxing Day this year.

Shakey Graves will be at The Moore on November 1st, supported by Tennis. The sport, not the band. (Just kidding you guys, it's actually the band). Shakey Graves is the project of Alejandro Rose-Garcia- a man tailor made for vintage Calvin Klein advertisements.
