Then She Did… is a Jane’s Addiction song written in 1987, shortly after the death of Xila Blue. According to Stephen Perkins, the song was originally titled Then She Died. It is a song about Perry Farrell’s mother’s suicide and the accidental overdose of his friend and former lover Xiola Blue. In the final verse of the song, Perry is asking Xiola to visit his mother in heaven.
"Wish" was the Cure's highest charting album and most commercially successful in the band's career, where it sold more than 1.2 million copies. "Wish" was also nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album in 1993.

The title of this album was chosen by lead singer Bernard Sumner from a conceptual art exhibition in Germany back in 1981. On the opening night of the exhibition the artist Gerhard Richter vandalized the exterior of the Kunsthalle by spray painting the text, "Power, Corruption, and Lies".

The projects are named after the song "Mermaid's Avenue", written by Guthrie. This was also the name of the street in Coney Island, New York on which Guthrie lived.
