RIP Ross Shapiro, frontman and founder of The Glands. The band came together in Athens, GA and they released their debut, "Double Thriller," on Bar/None Records in 1998.
The Dandy Warhols formed in Portland, Oregon, in 1994 by singer-guitarist Courtney Taylor-Taylor and guitarist Peter Holmström. Keyboardist Zia McCabe and drummer Eric Hedford joined them as well. L.A. hip-hop producer ToKiMONSTA is the first female in Flying Lotus' Brainfeeder crew and she just dropped 'Fovere' earlier in March. She takes her name from "Toki," the Korean word for rabbit, and the hyperbolic hip-hop term "monsta". In college, she began making beats at monthly performances at Beats Cipher where she caught the attention of Brainfeeder.
