Macklemore & Ryan Lewis formed in 2008 in Seattle, Washington. The duo is composed of Ben Haggerty, who goes by the name of Macklemore, and Ryan Lewis, a record producer, DJ, and photographer, who met the former at a photo shoot and they have significantly collaborated ever since. Matt Johnson, the only constant member of The The, wrote this song following the death of his brother. He found that writing this song was helpful in coping with his loss.
'Trouble Will Find Me' is the sixth studio record from The National.The first four days of recording were interrupted by heavy tornado-like winds which subsequently led to a power outage. Guitarist, keyboardist and co-producer Aaron Dessner noted in an interview with Pitchfork, "That night, by candlelight in the total darkness, we got really drunk and played the songs acoustically. It was the kind of scene that has never happened in the history of our band — and will never happen again.

Frontman Jonsi explains to Spin Magazine, "Even though (Hopelandic) a really natural way of singing, it also becomes a little repetitive and monotonous. It’s always the same syllables and words again and again. So it is nice to change it up, and when we did Takk, most of the songs are in Icelandic, and I think it’s good. "

Eagles of Death Metal cover Duran Duran's 1982 hit, "Save a Prayer". The two groups actually performed the track together for a UK TV Show, "TFI Friday" this past November.

Songwriter Conor O'Brien described his process for making {Awayland} to the Telegraph as a combo of failures with great consequences, "I bought my first synthesizer and learned how to use that and got a drum machine and a sampler and started making terrible techno music. Slowly words started appearing out of all these ambient soundscapes I was making and then I picked up the acoustic again and learnt how to finger pick properly. The whole album is really a by-product of that steep learning curve.

Sleater-Kinney released their sixth full-length, 'One Beat' via Kill Rock Stars on August 20th, 2002. Corin Tucker said in an interview, it "wasn't really a conscious decision" to write about the attacks, but there was "just such as an overwhelming presence in our minds as we were trying to write songs, that we felt that we really needed to deal with it, and that we really needed to write about it"
