Originally released as the B-side of the single "Two Hearts Beat as One", it didn't get much notice. But once U2 started playing this song live in February 1983, "40" has been a staple of U2's live concerts, and as of 2011, having been performed almost 400 times.
Another great track from the 'Say Anything' soundtrack which was released on this date in 1989 and it was Cameron Crowe's directorial debut.
