Yesterday, Sufjan Stevens, Bryce Dessner, Nico Muhly and James McAlister released “Mercury,” the second single off their upcoming collaborative album Planetarium (due 6/9 via 4AD). Planetarium began as a live project that debuted at Brooklyn Academy of Music in 2013, and today they’ve announced more live dates.Their schedule includes Brooklyn, LA, and Oakland shows in July.

Jonathan Demme, Oscar winning director of films such as 'Silence Of The Lambs', 'Philadelphia' and The Talking Heads 'Stop Making Sense', died today. The cause of death was esophageal cancer and complications from heart disease. He is survived by his wife, the artist Joanne Howard, and their three children. He was 73.
In addition to 'Stop Making Sense' he also directed 'Neil Young: Heart of Gold', a video documentary about The Pretenders, and 3 episodes of Saturday Night Live. www.imdb.com
