Producer Owen here...I'm cutting and pasting from a foreign language website and have no idea what this says about Bettie Serveert...which strikes me as humorous: Bettie Serveert met ‘Damaged Good’-tour het land door Een van de beste Nederlandse bands begint in december aan een reis langs verschillende Nederlandse steden en dorpen! Aankomend najaar staat rockband Bettie Serveert in vele Nederlandse clubs en poppodia, waaronder 013 in Tilburg. Here's the bad google translate: Bettie Serveert with the 'Damaged Good' tour through the country One of the best Dutch bands starts in December on a journey across different Dutch cities and villages! This fall, rock band Bettie Serveert will be in many Dutch clubs and poppodia, including 013 in Tilburg.

John's son Henry often says "why don't you only play `Davin Bowie' he makes all the good songs, (so) why do you play other people?"

ROSS RAIHALA of the St. Paul Pioneer Press writes in regard to the reissue of Purple Rain: "...(i)t’s important for two reasons. It marks the first time the landmark bestseller has been remastered since it was released in 1984, finally giving the nine tracks the benefit of decades worth of improvements in sonic technology. But what really has fans salivating is the 11-song bonus album, the first major dip into Prince’s legendary vault." Read more here: www.twincities.com

The band is playing a number of dates throughout summer and fall including residency's in Brooklyn and Los Angeles late fall, early winter. https://lcdso undsystem.com/gigs/ but be careful where you buy tickets! Here's what James Murphy recently posted: "...important note: JUST DON’T BUY ANY TICKETS ONLINE!!! many people on stubhub, once again, listed tickets for sale BEFORE ANY TICKETS WERE AVAILABLE, which means that they’re fake. last show, a bunch of people bought fake tickets, for a LOT of money. we can’t let you in with fake tickets. not because they’re “fake and we’re mean”, but because the venue has a legal capacity, and we fill it, which means we LEGALLY can’t let more people in! In researching Daft Punk, we stumbled upon this story in Consequence of Sound featuring quite possibly the greatest headline in the history of everything: London officials were forced to shut down Axl Rose and Tom Jones’ raging bar party at 6:00 a.m. "Rose and the 77-year-old (!) Jones partied like rock stars on Sunday until about 6 a.m., when city officials were forced to shut down the entire affair on account of noise complaints. These Westminster council officials had actually arrived earlier in the evening, but Rose, 55, and his group of pals — which included Jamie Hince of The Kills — refused to quit swilling the booze and leave the premises." I guess they were trying to "get lucky." Ahem. Is this thing on? consequenceofsound.net

Makossa roughly means "dance" in the Douala language of Cameroon, and the phrase is believed to have come from the brain of Manu Dibango, who released the song 'Soul Makossa' in 1973 featuring that familiar chant, which basically just plays with the word makossa rather than having any actual meaning.

Morning John! Today is my son Rocco's 10th birthday and he asked me to send in a request for you to play a song for him. Maybe "Go" by the Chemical Brothers or Alive by Empire of the Sun if you could, he would quite possibly lose his mind hearing you announce it on air. We listen to your show every morning on the way to school and now camp. Yay for awesome radio and amazing DJs helping me to raise the kiddos right. :) Thanks so much!
