In the UK, "Rush" was originally released as the B-side to the 1991 re-release of The Clash's "Should I Stay or Should I Go". The song samples several songs including the keyboard component of The Who's song "Baba O'Riley", the organ from the introduction to the Deep Purple song "Child in Time", a drum break from Tommy Roe's "Sweet Pea", drums and guitars from a break in Pigmeat Markham's "Here Comes the Judge", a line from The Sugarhill Gang's song "Rapper's Delight" where Big Bank Hank raps "a time to laugh, a time to cry", and a vocal sample from Peter Sellers in Fred Flange's song "You Keep Me Swingin'", where Sellers talks about "rhythm and melody".
Afghan Whigs’ new single is a cover song recorded in tribute to the band’s late guitarist Dave Rosser, who died last month following a battle with cancer. “You Want Love” was first recorded by the now-defunct New Orleans band Pleasure Club, whose frontman and songwriter James Hall contributes vocals to Afghan Whigs’ new version. www.spin.com

This is their cover of the classic Dead Kennedy's tune. The band was formed in 1990 by Michael Franti (vocals, production, misc. instruments) and Rono Tse (drums, percussion, programming), who had been in the Beatnigs. The band's name was derived in part from the phrase "The Disposable Heroes of Hypocrisy", used in some Socialist literature.

"Debora" is a pretty straight forward song for the first one minute 40, then repeats in its entirety backwards (hence the cut's full title "Deboraarobed"). Producer Tony Visconti later admitted that the first time he heard this song in concert, he assumed Bolan was singing in a foreign language, and "Deboraarobed" recaptures that confusion perfectly.

"Masters of War" was written over the winter of 1962–63 and released on the album The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan in the spring of 1963. Dylan's lyrics are a protest against the Cold War nuclear arms build-up of the early 1960s. Boy what a different time that was - I'm glad we don't have wars anymore.
