According to Yorn, the name of the song was inspired by a Les Paul Yorn bought at a second hand store. After he got home from the store, he took a shower and had the guitar riff in his head. After he got out, he grabbed his newly purchased guitar and started to play. Unable to think of a name for the song, he glanced at the back of his pre-owned guitar and for the first time noticed the name "Nancy" scrawled into the back of it.

"Learning To Fly" is the official song of the United States Air Force Academy skydiving team, Wings of Blue.
The track was originally recorded in Prince's home studio in Spring/Summer 1982. Basic tracks for the album version were recorded in August 1984 and the song was released on April 22, 1985
This is off their debut album and is the band's only album with original lead singer Liesje Sadonius.
Much like Hooverphonic's debut album where their original vocalist changed after their first release, 'Becoming X' is Sneaker Pimps' debut and features the only appearance of Kelli Dayton as a vocalist for the group - she was asked to leave the band. Chris Corner became the band's vocalist for subsequent albums.
