When Ian Curtis died, Joy Division had been working on some new songs..."Ceremony" and "In A Lonely Place"songs both of which Curtis had contributed to but hadn’t yet been released in any official capacity. The remaining band members formed New Order and took 9 months to re-record them as a tribute to Curtis and released both as a single in March 1981 - FAC.33

The band recalls that the recording session for "How Soon Is Now?" as being accompanied by heavy marijuana use. "We used to smoke dope from when we got out of bed to when we got back to bed," recalls producer Mike Porter, and Johnny Marr concurred: "You're from Manchester, you smoke weed till it comes out of your ears." Drummer Mike Joyce said the band even replaced the studio's light bulbs with red ones for ambience. Gotta do that at my house me thinks.

Lots going on with Fleetwood Mac during the recording of the album "Rumours" on which "The Chain" was originally released. Many cite this song it as one of the most evocative expressions of the internal fracture between various band members at the time. Buckingham and Nicks were ending their relationship at the same time that John and Christine McVie's marriage broke down, as did that of Fleetwood and his wife.
'Always Ascending' is the band's upcoming fifth studio album and will drop on February 9, 2018. It is the band's first non-collaborative album in just over four years (they released an album with Sparks in 2015).

the band says that this song is "about how sometimes we feel like we only exist to make money for other people, it’s a swizz. We are promised things by saviours, these people who have come to rescue us, but it’s not true. “Serve The Rich” was my opportunity to assert myself. I’m saying that we as PINS, musicians, women, Labour voters, and feminists, are here to save the kids, we’re here to save each other, we’re here to save ourselves." www.wearepins.co.uk

Dutch-Croatian singer-songwriter Marina Tadic started her group Eerie Wanda while she was working post-art school as guitarist for Amsterdam band Earth Mk. II. One of Tadic's bedroom demo tapes found its way to Jasper Verhulst, the bassist of Jacco Gardner, who decided to join forces with her. Dummer Nic Niggebrugge, also of Jacco Gardner, and Bram Vervaet followed suit, and together they became the band now known as Eerie Wanda.
