In April 2017 Marc Geiger, the head of music at the agency William Morris Endeavour, claimed that Goldenvoice CEO Paul Tollett, main promoter of the US music festival Coachella, had declined to book Bush in the festival's lineup. This would have marked her first ever live shows in North America. Geiger claimed that Tollet had reasoned that "No one is going to understand it (her act, presumably a version of Before The Dawn)". Tollett responded to Geiger's claims, indicating that he had been after Bush for 25 years and would book her if she ever became available, while recognising that this is unlikely as she does not tour. Additionally, a spokesperson for Bush commented that she had no intention of performing in the US.

In 2003, frontman Kozelek and Koutsos, along with Geoff Stanfield and Tim Mooney, reformed as Sun Kil Moon. In a 2005 interview, Kozelek confirmed that he considered Sun Kil Moon essentially a continuation of Red House Painters, but that he changed the band name to grab the interest of critics who had gotten bored with the band.
Stereogum premiered this track yesterday afternoon. It turns out they’ve already got a bit of buzz over in Europe: They’ve been written up in Irish publications, and they’ve toured with names like the Horrors and the Lemon Twigs, as well as their countrymen Girl Band. The group released their first EP under the band name Death From Above. They soon discovered that the name belonged to James Murphy from LCD Soundsystem. Apparently, Murphy had been using the name for a side project for quite some time. After a legal dispute with New York label DFA Records, Death From Above was forced to add "1979" to their moniker. In 2017, the band reverted back to their original Death from Above name.
PUP (abbreviation for Pathetic Use of Potential) is a Canadian punk rock band formed in Toronto, Ontario in 2013, originally under the name Topanga.
"Kyle Craft, it would seem, is someone to whom lyrics matter a great deal. “I hate the idea of conforming to shitty lyricism that happens nowadays,” the 29-year-old, Portland-based songwriter said in a recent interview. “It’s not everyone, but there is definitely a lower bar for what is considered good lyricism now.” Citing Bob Dylan as an influence, he also noted that his second studio LP, Full Circle Nightmare, is “a little less scatterbrained” than his 2016 debut, Dolls of Highland. “I think there’s a focal point to the lyricism,” he said, and about that, he’s right. Full Circle Nightmare fixates more or less entirely on one topic: women and their ability to ruin a man through their powers of seduction." Guided By Voices have announced a new album slated for 2018 called Space Gun. The album is the 26th studio LP from the hyper-prolific band and 102nd from frontman Robert Pollard. 102!!! Space Gun is out March 23rd.
"The London-based punk band Dream Wife began as an elaborate lark. In 2014, a trio of Brighton University students formed the troupe as an art school performance project that was "meditating on dreaming big and being a woman," Somerset, U.K.-raised bassist Bella Podpadec once explained. The fictitious group wrote original songs, filmed a This Is Spinal Tap-esque documentary explaining their vivid backstory — in short, they were a girl band that worshiped the '90s and wanted to go to Canada — and even performed at a gallery opening. Soon enough, Dream Wife's imaginary ambitions came true: an Iceland Airwaves appearance and even a Canadian tour followed by the end of the year — as did the sense that the band had a viable real-life future." They're coming to North America in 2018 but no west coast dates...yet.
