Ellery James Robert and Ebony Hoorn share a new song after the following comeback announcement back in January: "If ya’ll still with me, I am going to begin to break this radio silence. Last year passed in constant flux, dancing from revelation to amnesia, engagement to disillusionment, sober clarity, and sedated confusion… it was a year of upheaval, uncertainty, but all finds its eventual resolution. I sit here type typing with calm confidence all will come to be. Ammunition’s been a-piling up for months, lookin’ forwards to getting out blazin’, time to sing these lovers’ songs again.” lostunderheaven.com

A "California Star" is a complex geometric pattern used in making quilts. Woody Guthrie wrote the lyrics to the song, but never recorded it. In 1998 it was recorded as part of Mermaid Avenue, a collection of Guthrie's work that was put to music and recorded by British singer Billy Bragg and Wilco.

From the band: “The song is really simple, confident and fun and we wanted our role in the video to reflect that. but we also wanted the video to represent these vicious cycles that we often get ourselves into but have no control over - they can feel confusing, isolating and violent. and we liked the idea of juxtaposing that energy and emotion with beautiful exteriors and a warm environment. i think its easy to forget sometimes that bad things can happen in beautiful places”.

They play Barboza June 7th. Lead singer Hether Fortune describes this track: "Finding inspiration in one of my favorite poems, 'Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night' by Dylan Thomas, I used this song as a vehicle to meditate on the concept of free will and how one could choose to exercise it even at the brink of death. The protagonist is someone who is young, madly in love and desperately wants to live — though they know that they will not. They have chosen to use their final seconds, the only breath in their lungs, to scream out the name of the one that they love." waxidols.bandcamp.com

Sub Pop catalog #192! Released April 26th, 1993. Though Sebadoh officially made their Sub Pop debut the year before with the LP "Smash Your Head on the Punk Rock", that album was a compilation of two early EP's, Rocking the Forest and Sebadoh vs. Helmet. So, Bubble & Scrape was the first album of new material from the despondent songwriting duo of Eric Gaffney and Lou Barlow, and the last album of songs from Gaffney who left the band shortly thereafter.
The single version of "Holland, 1945" was released in October 1998. It was the second single released by the band, and was the band's last official release before a decade-long hiatus and their subsequent reunion in 2011.
