I guess you could say I went west. You know, the way of Horatio Alger, Davy Crockett, the Donner Party...
I just honestly don't know what I have in common with those people anymore... or with anyone, really. I mean, they'll all have husbands and wives and children and houses and dogs, and, you know, they'll have made themselves a part of something, and they can talk about what they do. And what am I going to say? "I killed the president of Paraguay with a fork. How have you been?"
You can never go home again, Oatman... but I guess you can still shop there.
Hi! I’m Martin Blank, do you remember me? I’m not married, I don’t have any kids, and I’d blow your head off if someone paid me enough.
You're listening to songs from the movie 'Grosse Pointe Blank', which was released 21 years ago today.
"If you love something, set it free. If it comes back to you, it's... well... broken." - Debi Newberry
"Hey, hey, bing bing bing bing bang! POPCORN!" - Mr. Grocer
Martin: I'm a professional killer.
Paul: Do you have to do post-graduate work for that, or can you just jump right in?
Agent McCullers: You got any ideas how you wanna wax this guy?
Agent Lardner: Can't you just say "kill"? You always gotta romanticize it.
Dr. Oatman: Go see some old friends. Drink some punch, visit with what's-her-name. Don't kill anybody for a few days; see what it feels like.
Martin Blank: I'll give it a shot.
Dr. Oatman: No, don't give it a shot! Don't shoot anything!
You're listening to songs from the movie 'Grosse Pointe Blank', which was released 21 years ago today.
Mr. Newberry: So, what have you been doing with your life?
Martin Blank: Um... professional killer.
Mr. Newberry: Oh, good for you! Growth industry.
Movie fun fact: only the aerial footage of Lakeshore Drive was actually shot in Grosse Pointe cause the city of Grosse Pointe Farms did not allow filmmakers to use any shots of Grosse Pointe South High School due to the presence of alcohol in the reunion scenes. The majority of the film was shot in Monrovia, California.
The movie has two soundtrack albums - after the first reached number 31 on the Billboard 200 chart, they released a second volume of songs from the film.
Speaking of the second volume, this track is on the 2nd soundtrack -'Grosse Pointe Blank - More Music From the Film'

What do you do when you get a request for some Ramones by someone with an email address that starts "gabba.hey@xxx"? You play some Ramones goddammit!
When the Ramones hired Phil Spector in 1979, they didn’t know they were getting two producers: Nice Phil and Evil Phil. Nice Phil wore sports shirts and cracked corny jokes. Evil Phil wore a cape, dark glasses and was abusive and controlling. When an exhausted Dee Dee Ramone said he was going home one night, Spector reached for his revolver. “You’re not going anywhere,” he said.
The bassist replied, “What are you going to do, shoot me? Go ahead. I’m leaving. Goodbye.” (In another version of the story, the gun was pointed at Johnny Ramone.) The band soldiered on, with Spector endlessly remixing and driving the budget over $700,000. The resulting album, End of the Century, got mixed reviews from critics and fans.
