The Prince Estate has released today the original version of the iconic song "Nothing Compares 2 U." This previously unreleased version was recorded in 1984, six years before Sinead O'Connor's 1990 hit interpretation. It was recorded at the Flying Cloud Drive Warehouse in Eden Prairie by Prince's long-time engineer, Susan Rogers and features backing vocals by Susannah Melvoin and Paul "St. Paul" Peterson.

Liz Phair will soon release an Exile in Guyville box set, featuring her early demo tapes (called Girly-Sound tapes, the name she recorded under in 1991).
