"There There," came out as a single a few weeks before the 2003 album, "Hail to the Thief." Subtitled "The Money King of Nowhere," the track was nominated for a Best Rock Performance Grammy, but lost out to Warren Zevon and Bruce Springsteen's "Disorder in the Street." "Seven Nation Army" also lost in the same category, so they were in good company.
Yesterday, Foals frontman Yannis Philippakis may have just teased some new music from the band. Posting to his Instagram stories, Philippakis appears to be in the studio. The clip features some synth sounds while someone chats in the background.Adding the speak-no-evil monkey emoji to the clip, it appears that Philippakis is hinting at something secret. Bowie was a great Velvet Underground fan and wrote the song in tribute to the band and Lou Reed.While the main riff is similar to The Velvet Underground's "Sweet Jane", it is actually lifted from Eddie Cochran's "Three Steps to Heaven".
John Lennon helped write this song - he came up with the title and also sang the background "Fame" parts in the high voice. They started working on the song when Bowie invited Lennon to the studio, and Lennon played rhythm guitar on a jam session that resulted in this track. At the end of this song, "Fame" is repeated 23 times, each "Fame" being a different note. The repetitions of "Fame" span an amazing four octaves.

Pixies frontman Frank Black had something else in mind when he wrote it. He explained: "That song is just about all these f--kin' stupid ass students that live around this neighborhood. Despite already releasing two albums, the guys were hardly living like rock stars. Peter Buck remembers writing this song with Bill Berry in their humble digs: "I remember Bill and I had a little apartment. God it was a dump. Everything was falling apart, and the only people who lived in the apartment complex besides me and Bill were some people who were living in group homes trying to transition out into the real world. A lot of them hadn't had apartments before, so it was kind of chaotic.
"I remember Bill came up with the verse to 'Driver 8,' and after he showed it to me he said, 'I need to run to the market, I'll be right back.' I think he went to get some beans or rice or something. In the meantime, I came up with the chorus and the intro riff. Bill came back in about five minutes, and it was done. So I played it for him and he went, 'Alright, that's great!' Bill was totally excited.

The Soup Dragons were a Scottish band who were named after a character in the British children's TV show, The Clangers. This is a reggae-infused version of an old Rolling Stones song. The Stones originally released it as a B-side to the United States version of their single "Get Off My Cloud" in 1965. The song isn't a pure cover, as it takes many musical liberties and alters the lyrics. But it's similar enough that Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, the writers of the original, are credited as the only composers on the Soup Dragons version.
