Gibbard told NPR's All Songs Considered "As I've gotten older," he says, "I've become acutely aware of how I connect my memories to my geography and [how] the landscape of the city changes. I'll walk down Broadway and walk past a location that used to be a bar I'd frequent with friends, or somewhere where I had a beautifully intense conversation with somebody that I once loved very much. The song is not a complaint about how things were better or anything like that. It's an observation, but more about coming to terms with the passage of time and losing the people and the moments in my life all over again as I walk down a street that is now so unfamiliar."

According to Wiki, so you know it's true. The Barmy Army is a semi-organised group of English cricket fans which arranges touring parties for some of its members to follow the English cricket team on overseas tours.
The group, then less organised, was given its name by the Australian media during the 1994-1995 Test series in Australia, reportedly for the fans' audacity in travelling to Australia in the near-certain knowledge that their team would lose, and the fact that they kept on chanting even when England were losing quite badly.
In 2006 Adidas used a remix of "Eanie Meany" for their World Cup advertising. The song begins, "If you don't give my football back, I'm gonna get my dad on you."

Of their new album, singer Joe Talbot writes "When I read the phrase “Joy is an act of resistance,” I immediately knew that that was something we were gift(ed) from the very first moment we started (messing) around with each other. There was always something fearless in our band, we laughed off the BS and loved the interactions our music created, writing exactly what we loved and not being fearful of judgement or being told we’re derivative or clumsy. Now with the second album I’ve realized that I needed to truly love myself in order to write honestly. Once again, I let go of worrying about the world telling me something that I already knew: I am completely flawed…but so are you and that’s ok. We are not alone."
