Good morning and happy Friday! James Murphy said of this song, "That’s one I had to remix! I played it for my wife, and by the back 20% she was leaning back in her chair: 'That might be too much…' It was just howling by the end! So I had to go back in there and make some space. That song, for a really long time, was just the drum at the beginning and a little percussion and voice, that’s all it was. Then I was working in London, and we made the big kick drum and the big synth bass, which was pretty hair-raising. Then there’s a whole new melody at the end, and a string synth. It just got bonkers. It made me quite happy in the end, but it was a bit of a beast to wrangle."
The "Barbara, Barbara We Face a Shining Future" album title was something that Rick Smith's late father said to his mother not long before he passed away. Karl Hyde said: "His father was a great man, very inspiring and as soon Rick said that, before we got halfway through writing this material, it was just instant, 'Yeah, that's the title.'"

"J-TREE," is a song of praise to nature featuring audio of Shiyé Bidziil, one of the key members of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, speaking out against the construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline through sacred Native American burial lands. As Gang Gang Dance co-founder Brian DeGraw explains, "Standing Rock was essentially a standoff between beings who believe that money is God versus beings who believe that Nature is God. I think Shiyé's moment was an example of the natural world confirming that the latter is much closer to the truth."

A new compilation of Joe Strummer’s output beyond his recordings with the Clash will include 12 previously unreleased songs. The 32-track double album, "Joe Strummer 001," will be released on September 28th, 2018.
When he first came up with the song, Beck didn't see it as a potential release as it came together so quickly. He recalled: "I was working on another song – maybe 'Dreams' – when I had an idea for a flute beat. I picked up the mic and 'Wow' came out totally spontaneously. I put it away and forgot about it. Then 'Wow' was on in the studio one day and someone said 'You should put this on the record.' I went 'I don't think anybody would like this.'

"Pressure Drop" helped launch the band's career outside Jamaica when the song was featured in the soundtrack to the 1972 film "The Harder They Come," which introduced reggae to much of the world.
