Did you know that The Cure released "Japanese Whispers" on this date way, way back in 1983?
Odesza, which you just heard, says that "We Own The Sky" is one of their favorites. They say, "No list of ours is complete without a little M83. One of our bigger influences, M83 is the perfect balance of epic synth lines and soaring vocals."
Keith Forsey and Steve Schiff wrote this song specifically for "The Breakfast Club." According to Forsey, Bryan Ferry of Roxy Music was his first choice to record this song, but Ferry turned it down. Forsey was also a big fan of Simple Minds, so he tried to get them to record the song by delivering a cassette demo to the band. The band wanted nothing to with it because:
1) They didn't like recording songs they didn't write.
2) Jim Kerr didn't like the lyric (especially the "vanity... insecurity" line). As you can tell, they eventually changed their minds.

"Never as Tired as When I'm Waking Up" is the fifth track on the band's eponymous debut studio album. According to the statistics on setlist.fm, this was never played live by the band. Some have compared the song to "Dear Prudence" by The Beatles and say that it is very reminiscent of the White Album.
