A new podcast on the National, Coffee & Flowers, will launch next month. Among the confirmed guests are Matt Berninger, Aaron Dessner, and Mistaken for Strangers documentary film editor Carin Besser, who is also Berninger’s wife. Based out of Seattle and London, Lonesome Ditch will be releasing their latest album "Past The Ditch" on March 1st. The album was inspired by a "long, challenging winter in London", but the sounds were influenced by the time Ben Todd spent living in the desert of New Mexico learning finger-picking blues guitar.
Mac McCaughan says this song is about "trying to look at any possible bright side of the coming new year after the disaster that was this one.”

While initially not very successful in The Temper Trap's home country of Australia, "Sweet Disposition" went on the gain success in the U.S. and Europe after being featured on the soundtrack for "500 Days of Summer".
"Trouble" was written after Cat Stevens spent 3 months in the hospital and 9 months on bedrest for a collapsed lung and tuberculosis. Stevens said, "To go from the show business environment and find you are in hospital, getting injections day in and day out, and people around you are dying, it certainly changes your perspective."

Miya Folick was raised Jōdo Shinshū Buddhist, and learned Taiko drumming as a child. In college she picked up guitar and formed her own band. Her debut album "Premonitions" just came out in October.

We're so sad to hear about the passing of James Mendenhall of The Prom, who passed away on New Year's Eve of a heart attack.
Guitarist Dave Gregory said about this song, "Despite glowing press reviews [of Drums and Wires], we were still struggling to fill small theatres in the UK and the brief tour was disappointing. But then, the unthinkable happened -- Nigel got playlisted at the BBC and in early October, XTC were back in the charts! And back on Top of the Pops! Twice!! When we resumed touring in late November, every gig was sold out."

The Specials have a new album coming out, "Encore", on February 1st, their first album of original songs since 1988.
"Ackee 1-2-3" comes from Birmingham slang for "Hide and Seek", but apparently a much more intense version.
