Good morning Seattle, and welcome to the Thursday edition of The Morning Show. This live version of "Bad" appears on a 4-song EP from U2 that was released in 1985 following their tour for The Unforgettable Fire album. At a show in 1987, Bono said about the song - "I wrote the words about a friend of mine; his name was Gareth Spaulding, and on his 21st birthday he and his friends decided to give themselves a present of enough heroin into his veins to kill him. This song is called 'Bad.'"
This live version of "Daughter" appears on the seven disc box set that Pearl Jam released in 2007. It features live performances from their 2005 and 2006 shows at The Gorge Amphitheatre, a 27,500-seat concert venue that is an absolute gem of an outdoor locale here in Washington state
