Good morning Seattle, and welcome to the Thursday edition of The Morning Show. Starting off with a track off of Frightened Rabbit's 2017 EP Recorded Songs. Julien Baker joined frontman Scott Hutchison for vocals on this song, and after his death in May 2018 she stated: "Been trying to find the right words but there are none; Frightened Rabbit’s music had a huge impact on my life, and what interaction we had was always marked by such kindness. My heart is broken for this loss and for those who loved and were close to Scott."

Peter Gabriel told the Quietus in 2011 about this song: "There's an interesting story about this song. Because there was this reference point of American roots music in it when I first wrote it, it was suggested that Dolly Parton sing on it. But Dolly turned it down... and I'm glad she did because what Kate did on it is... brilliant. Obviously a lot of the power of the song came from the way that Kate sings it."

Better Oblivion Community Center is the new band, formed by Phoebe Bridgers
and Conor Oberst, kept their plans under wraps for months as they wrote and recorded in Los Angeles in the summer and fall of 2018. By the tail end of the year rumors were swirling and a mysterious phone number appeared on social media platforms. Fans of both artists began receiving enigmatic brochures in the mail and a bus stop advertising the Better Oblivion Community Center appeared in their hometown of LA.
