Husband and Wife Don and Karen Peris lead this band that hails from Lancaster, PA. They rose to fame in the 90s alt-rock community, and have been making music consistently ever since. Karen Peris has been featured as a vocalist on a solo record put out in 2017 by Simon Raymonde of Cocteau Twins fame.
Marie Ulven is the creative force behind this project. She shared this new single stating that she "wrote 'watch you sleep' in one sitting at 2am. In my head I had this short film playing in my head of a memory I have. I just wrote what I saw and felt. It was really weird and overwhelming. I literally cried while making this cause it made me so emotional. The song is really different from everything that’s out so far. This song shows a completely different side of me. The Beat incorporate a wide spectrum of genres in their unique sounds. Here in the US and Australia, they're known as The English Beat, as to not confuse them with the American band of the same name.
