According to an interview with Rolling Stone, Moby almost didn't include "Porcelain" on Play - "I actually had to be talked into including it. When I first recorded it, I thought it was average. I didn’t like the way I produced it, I thought it sounded mushy, I thought my vocals sounded really weak. I couldn’t imagine anyone else wanting to listen to it."

For Red and his beautiful boy Arthur
The Yeah Yeah Yeah's frontwoman told Rolling Stone about Spike Jonze asking her to compose the music for his 2009 film: “I guess there is a childlike innocence about my music or my persona that he always just kind of dialed into. To play on it and it was a really amazing experience and I think what he has accomplished with the film is basically the impossible. There’s a lot of stuff that they told me Spike couldn’t do that he did it anyway and it was a really inspiring and exciting thing to be a part of.”
The third album from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, which lost the Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music to Phoenix's Wolfgang Amadeus
O on the making of this song: “I like to write songs that anyone can relate to but this one felt especially for the inner child in me that needed the bullies out there to know you don’t f***with me. I’m a woman now and I’ll protect that inner girl in me from hell and high water.”

Radiohead's Colin Greenwood to Caitlin Moran: "We didn't really realise that loads of people like The Bends. Tucked away in Oxford, you occasionally see someone in a 'Creep' T-shirt, and that's it. But then we went all round the world and found that loads of people wanted to 'hang' with us because of that album. Which was nice."
Happy 9th birthday Eva, this one's for you!

Kelley Finnigan (of Bay Area soul band Monophonics) has just released this cover of the 1973 song from The Honey Drippers - “Just as the timing of the original in 1973 was essential and necessary. What’s been going for the last 2 plus years in this country is disturbing in a lot of ways and I’m proud to be a part of this record and the message in the music.” | bit.ly
