Ride are a rock band formed in Oxford, England in 1988. The band consists of Andy Bell, Mark Gardener, Laurence "Loz" Colbert, and Steve Queralt. The band were initially part of the "shoegazing" scene that emerged in England during the early 1990s. Bassist Andy Bell went on to play with Oasis after the band broke up in 1996.
This shoegaze combo formed in Brooklyn in 2007 by Kip Berman (vocals, guitar); joined live by Christoph Hochheim (guitar), Jen Goma (keyboards, vocals), Jacob Sloan (bass), and Anton Hochheim (drums). The band has stopped by KEXP a few times over the years. Watch them here: www.youtube.com

Upon its release, Gala was well received by critics. NME writer Terry Staunton rated it 8 out of 10 and said, Gala was a collection of Lush's "two glorious years" and "a delicious starter" for the band, adding "when the initial stocks run out, Gala will clean up in the import shops, as it is undoubtedly one of maybe a dozen (probably less) albums from this year that everyone should own".
Hailing from Brisbane, Australia, the artist born Harriette Pilbeam started singing as a child, later learning guitar and bass in her teen years. Ringo Deathstarr is from Austin, Texas, formed by singer/songwriter Elliott Frazier in 2007. The name of the band is a portmanteau of the Beatles drummer Ringo Starr and the Star Wars Death Star. While recording vocals for "Only Shallow," Kevin Shields and Bilinda Butcher hung curtains on the window between the studio control room and the vocal booth. According to engineer Guy Fixsen, "we weren't allowed to listen while either of them were doing a vocal. You'd have to watch the meters on the tape machine to see if anyone was singing. If it stopped, you knew you had to stop the tape and take it back to the top."

Doppelgänger is the debut album from innovative U.K. band. The album's singles "Horror Head" and "Faît Accompli" achieved alternative club play on both sides of the Atlantic, and the band's subsequent singles would sport remixes by the likes of Aphex Twin, Trent Reznor, and the Future Sound of London.
Cranes were one of the major trance-pop/shoegaze groups of the early '90s, combining ethereal vocals and melodies with loud, droning guitars. Cranes were formed by brother and sister Jim (drums) and Alison Shaw (vocals) in 1988 in Portsmouth, England; guitarist Mark Francombe and bassist Matt Cope joined the band two years later. The band is named after the many mechanical cranes around the city's (Portsmouth) docks. We keep an eye out to see if they are ever touring again; one of the best live shows you will ever see!!

Formed in Liverpool in 1988, the English guitar pop group the Boo Radleys developed a dedicated cult following in the early '90s before crossing over into the mainstream in the middle of the decade. Originally, the Radleys were one of the lesser lights of the loud, noisy My Bloody Valentine-inspired psychedelic trance pop bands labeled "shoegazers" by the British weekly music press. The brainchild of guitarist Brad Laner, Los Angeles trio Medicine play a melodic, rhythmic style of noise rock that has been tagged as dream pop. Medicine were formed in 1991 with drummer Jim Goodall; their early lineup included guitarist Jim Putnam, bassist Eddie Ruscha, and singer Annette Zalinskas, an original member of the Bangles. Putnam, Ruscha, and Zalinskas eventually left; the latter was replaced by former Fourwaycross singer Beth Thompson. In 2003, Laner recruited vocalist Shannon Lee (Bruce Lee's daughter) and formed a new version of Medicine. bit.ly
