Good morning Seattle, and welcome to the Thursday edition of The Morning Show. The Lighthouse and the Whaler is a Cleveland-based band that formed in 2008. "Under Mountain, Under Ground" is found on their self-titled debut album, released in 2009

After the success of their debut album Funeral, the band found themselves frozen with how to follow it up: “Life had become pretty overwhelming,” Win Butler told Mojo two years later. “We gave up our apartment in Montreal and were basically living out of a suitcase for 10 months. There was a long period after the last record came out that Regine and I did little or no writing.” Their creative streak hit again after a trip through the New Mexico desert, and Neon Bible was eventually the result.

It's been a few years since we've seen a new album from local artist Lemolo, but she's back with Swansea on October 11th! Says Meagan Grandall: "This song is about some of the contradictory and frustrating ways that different people have told me I should be throughout my life. It is about moments when others’ opinions were imparted on me when I didn’t ask for them, and how they made me question who I was. I should smile more/I should be less cheerful, I should follow my dreams/I shouldn’t be too bold, etc. I wrote this song to explore my own courage and empowerment in my authenticity, regardless of what anyone else thinks."
