Request for Stacey: Yesterday marked one year since I lost a dear friend to suicide. I was hoping you might play Quivers' You're Not Always On My Mind for me on Friday. I first heard this song on KEXP and have always connected with it, but it means so much more to me now. He was one of my "most important people" in college, and although we weren't in frequent conversation anymore, we were still strongly connected. I always assumed our lives would come back together again in a way that allowed our friendship to truly blossom again. It is crushing to know that will not happen now. I am a professor now and have promised, in my friend's memory, to talk to my students about mental health and suicide prevention. Being a long-time listener to your program has made me braver and more comfortable in talking about these issues. Thank you for all you do.
