In 2016, Foals frontman Yannis Philippakis was offered the opportunity of a lifetime: a two-day session working with the great drummer Tony Allen, who he admired intensely for his influential, multi-genre work with the likes of Fela Kuti, Sébastien Tellier and Jeff Mills. This collaboration began in 2016 but the recordings were never completed before Tony passed away in April 2020 at the age of 79. Now, they are finished and a five-track EP was released on August 30th.

The riff that carries this song is clearly lifted from a 1977 song called "Three Girl Rhumba" by the British punk band Wire. That band was a huge influence on Elastica, whose song "Line Up" also borrowed their sound. An out-of-court settlement resolved the matter; Wire didn't get songwriting credits on "Connection," but the publicity garnered interest in the band, whose first two albums were re-released amid the dustup.

Kirsty Anna MacColl was a British singer and songwriter, daughter of folk singer Ewan MacColl. She recorded several pop hits in the 1980s and 1990s, including "There's a Guy Works Down the Chip Shop Swears He's Elvis" and cover versions of Billy Bragg's "A New England" and the Kinks's "Days".
This was the debut album by The Jim Carroll Band, led by Jim Carroll. He is notable for publishing the 1978 memoir The Basketball Diaries.
He was well known for his poetry and writings, recognized by Patti Smith as the best poet of his generation. Carroll was found at his desk, still working on those writings, when he died in 2009 at age 60.
