At the time of "Rid of Me,", PJ Harvey was still a trio that included Polly Jean Harvey on guitar and vocals, Rob Ellis on drums, and Steve Vaughan on bass. In the middle of winter, the group moved to a remote house in Cannon Falls, Minnesota, near Pachyderm Studio, where they recorded the album under guidance of producer Steve Albini. Says Harvey: "I knew I wanted to work with Steve Albini from listening to Pixies records, and hearing the sounds he was getting, which were unlike any other sounds that I'd heard on vinyl. I really wanted that very bare, very real sound. I knew that it would suit the songs. It's like touching real objects or feeling the grain of wood. That's what his sound is like to me. It's very tangible. You can almost feel the room."

Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine was an English band founded in 1988 in London by singer Jim "Jim Bob" Morrison and guitarist Les "Fruitbat" Carter. They made their name with a genre called Grebo, fusing samples, drum machines, and sequenced basses, with guitars and dirty lyrics.
"Where is My Mind?" comes from Pixies' 1988 debut album, Surfer Rosa. Steve Albini produced the album.
Black Francis, who wrote the song, said of working with Albini: "I think his attitude worked because it blended well with the naivety of the band. We didn’t know what we were doing but we did it well." tinyurl.com

‘Reason Enough’, Crows third studio album, is the one the band have taken the longest to write. Partly because they had to fit the exercise around working full-time jobs, but also because of the freedom that was afforded to them around this specific project, which takes the post-punk four piece’s historically adrenaline-fuelled sound into fresh territory.
