This opening track Of "Kick" was built using a Roland 707 drum machine that Andrew Farriss helped Michael Hutchence program. It's the same machine that formed the rhythm for the "Kick" track "Need You Tonight."Tim Farriss, one of three Farriss brothers in the band, played the guitar solo.

The opening track of Yeah Yeah's Fever To Tell album is a swipe at critics who pegged them as retro. Vocalist Karen O told NME when the record was released: "The press still portrays us as a garage band, so we wanted to open up the album with a track that could in no way be mistaken for a garage track."

THE CURE will release their long-awaited new album, 'SONGS OF A LOST WORLD', on 1st November. The album, their 14th studio release, is their first in 16 years.
'ALONE', the first song released from the album and we've got it.
Robert Smith says, "It's the track that unlocked the record; as soon as we had that piece of music recorded I knew it was the opening song, and I felt the whole album come into focus. I had been struggling to find the right opening line for the right opening song for a while, working with the simple idea of ‘being alone’, always in the back of my mind this nagging feeling that I already knew what the opening line should be… as soon as we finished recording I remembered the poem ‘Dregs' by the English poet Ernest Dowson… and that was the moment when I knew the song - and the album - were real."
