Happy 66th birthday to Mr. Bill Berry, drummer, R.E.M. In 1995, Berry suffered a cerebral aneurysm onstage and collapsed. After a successful recovery he left the music industry two years later to become a farmer, and has since maintained a low profile, making sporadic reunions with R.E.M. and appearing on other artists' recordings.
Michael Stipe said in the October 1992 issue of Q magazine: "It's a complete (goof). I guess it's the prototype of, and hopefully the end of, a pop song. It would be the last pop song ever."
Stipe has described it as one of his "fruit loop songs" along with "Shiny Happy People" and "Stand."

Lost in Translation: Music from the Motion Picture Soundtrack is the soundtrack album to the 2003 film Lost in Translation, directed by Sofia Coppola. The soundtrack contains five songs by Kevin Shields, including one from his group My Bloody Valentine. Other artists featured on the soundtrack include Air, Death in Vegas, Squarepusher, Phoenix and the Jesus and Mary Chain's "Just Like Honey."
This song features Liam Gallagher of Oasis. Oasis was a band that featured two brothers who drank, and fought, and made great songs while drinking, and fighting, and fighting, and drinking, while drunk...and sober.
They swore a lot, too.
Despite the friction between the Gallagher brothers, co-producer Owen Morris reflected in 2010 that: "The sessions were the best, easiest, least fraught, most happily creative time I've ever had in a recording studio. "Setting Sun" features uncredited vocals from Noel Gallagher of Oasis, who also co-wrote the track with duo members Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons. -- Gallagher used an old Oasis song, "Comin' on Strong", as the basis for the lyrics to "Setting Sun". Both songs are heavily influenced by the Beatles' Revolver track "Tomorrow Never Knows".

"Under Pressure" was recorded at Mountain Studios in Montreux, Switzerland, in July 1981. Queen, working on their 1982 album Hot Space, had been working on a song called "Feel Like", but were not satisfied with the result. While they were there, David Bowie was also at Mountain recording his vocals for "Cat People (Putting Out Fire)", the title song for the 1982 horror film of the same name.

Springsteen came up with this song in the studio during recording sessions in early 1982. He was playing around with a slow Johnny Cash rhythm which he put to some lyrics he had already written. In 2000, Johnny Cash covered it on Badlands: A tribute to Bruce Springsteen's Nebraska.
