On this day 44 years ago in 1980 Peter Gabriel releases his third album named LITERALLY "Peter Gabriel." Here in the US, the album was titled Peter Gabriel III. The album is also often referred to as Melt. So annoying. Anyhow, the album features classics "Games Without Frontiers" and "Biko."

Today is the one year anniversary of my dad's passing, and my mom and I are still learning how to live with the grief. It is more overwhelming and unpredictable than I expected - sometimes it is sharp, sometimes it is soft. Grief has me feeling his intense presence and absence at the same time.
I ended up giving the eulogy at his memorial, and I found myself focusing on the importance of showing up and being present, probably the most important thing he taught me. That's where you find the beauty, the joy, the poetry, and how you connect to other people. That is what is helping us get through.
Hard to pick one song to remember such a big music-lover, but I was hoping you could play Moonlight Mile by the Rolling Stones for my mom and me in honor of Tom/Dad/Poppa.

When Joan was around twelve years old she had a vision. She saw Michael the Archangel. He told her that she was to lead the French in a battle against the English. After she drove the English out she was to take the king to be crowned at Rheims.
Joan continued to have visions and hear voices over the next several years. She said they were beautiful and wonderful visions from God. When Joan turned sixteen she decided it was time to listen to her visions and take action.
