The Faroe Islands' Helena Rebensdorff, aka Brimheim, confides, "Throughout my life, I've behaved in a lot of self destructive ways, attempting to fill this deep, barren void inside of me with everything from drugs to self-harm. But more than anything else, I’ve had to reckon with an unquenchable desire for other people’s approval and adoration, both as a human being and as an artist. "That’s what 'Literally Everything' is about - the overwhelming impulse to sacrifice everything, including my self respect, in exchange for a moment of admiration." tinyurl.com Watch the original video here: youtu.be

John Fogerty, singer-songwriter, guitarist, and producer of Creedence Clearwater Revival was born on this day in 1945. This is an antiestablishment song of defiance and blue-collar pride, both anti-Washington and against the Vietnam War. John Fogerty and Doug Clifford both enlisted in the Army Reserves in 1966 (to avoid being drafted and shipped to Vietnam) and were discharged in 1968 after serving their military commitments. "The song speaks more to the unfairness of class than war itself," Fogerty said. "It's the old saying about rich men making war and poor men having to fight them."

The feedback he gave me in some of the tracks was also greatly appreciated." So here's "room for one" from for the album the rest of your life by twikipedia. twikipedia.bandcamp.com

Gish was released on this day in 1991. Billy Corgan on Smashing Pumpkins' debut album, Gish: "The album is about pain and spiritual ascension. People ask if it's a political album. It's not a political album, it's a personal album. In a weird kind of way, Gish is almost like an instrumental album—it just happens to have singing on it, but the music overpowers the band in a lot of places. I was trying to say a lot of things I couldn't really say in kind of intangible, unspeakable ways, so I was capable of doing that with the music, but I don't think I was capable of doing it with words."
