"Into Your Arms" is a cover version of a song written and recorded previously by Love Potions, bandmate Nic Dalton's former band, and it became the Lemonheads' biggest charting hit. Courtney Love recently joined The Lemonheads in London for an emotional performance of "Into Your Arms," Love and Evan Dando were friends in the early ’90s, and speaking before the performance, the Hole frontwoman praised Dando for staying by her side during a turbulent time. “He was my one constant,” Love said. “One man who doesn’t have a fucking bad bone in his body.” Watch that performance here: consequence.net

Many of the songs on the album were influenced by Smith's departure. "A lot of the songs were written while I was in a sense going through the 'divorce,'" Orzabal told The Washington Post in 1993. "Things like 'Break It Down Again' refer to that to some degree, and 'Fish Out of Water,' obviously. I did psychotherapy for about six years. I stopped going regularly when I'd finished Elemental, which I think probably says something. I think I'm moving on." Smith returned to the band in 2004. tearsforfears.com

The Faroe Islands' Helena Rebensdorff, aka Brimheim, confides, "Throughout my life, I've behaved in a lot of self destructive ways, attempting to fill this deep, barren void inside of me with everything from drugs to self-harm. But more than anything else, I’ve had to reckon with an unquenchable desire for other people’s approval and adoration, both as a human being and as an artist. "That’s what 'Literally Everything' is about - the overwhelming impulse to sacrifice everything, including my self respect, in exchange for a moment of admiration." tinyurl.com Watch the original video here: youtu.be

'Gemelo' is the new album from songwriter and pop auteur Angélica Garcia. Its title is a reference to the twin self – the idea of a second, more intuitive self within. It’s a vibrant, prismatic hybrid-pop record that soundtracks a journey through the different stages and forms of grief. Angélica explores its inherent loneliness, beauty, and tension, eventually finding liberation. 'Gemelo' also expertly deconstructs facets of universal themes like religion, spirit, heritage, womanhood, and ancestral veneration. --- angelicagarcia.bandcamp.com

From the the second studio album by Hole - holerock.net --- "This is a song about a jerk. I hexed him, now he's losing his hair." That's how Hole frontwoman Courtney Love introduced "Violet" when Hole played it on Later... with Jools Holland in 1995. This is a pretty clear indication that the song is about Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins, whom love dated in 1991 before taking up with Kurt Cobain. - www.songfacts.com

For David in Scotland 'Harvest' is the fourth studio album by Neil Young, released in 1972. The song, which features backup vocals by James Taylor and Linda Ronstadt, is one of a series of soft acoustic pieces which were written partly as a result of a back injury. Unable to stand for long periods of time, Young could not play his electric guitar and so returned to his acoustic guitar, which he could play sitting down. He also played his harmonica during the three instrumental portions, including the introduction to the song. bit.ly Neil Young performing "Heart of Gold" at Farm Aid in 1985: youtu.be RIP Elliott Mazer, engineer and producer of Neil Young's "Harvest." Mazer passed away February 2021.
