Into the Wild is the debut solo studio album by Pearl Jam vocalist Eddie Vedder, and is based on his contributions to the soundtrack for the film of the same name. Director Sean Penn handpicked Vedder to provide the music for the film.

The title track for Dead Man Walkin' was written and performed by Bruce Springsteen. The song was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Song but lost to "Colors of the Wind" from the Walt Disney film Pocahontas.
Because The Night was written by Bruce Springsteen and Patti Smith and it originally appeared on the Patti Smith Group album Easter, which was released in 1978.

The song was initially offered to Chrissie Hynde. She said, "we didn't pull that off. And I always regretted that, because Iggy was always my number one when I was growing up. And then he wrote this song and he sent it to me. It was handwritten and everything. I don't know what I did to turn him off the idea, but then I never heard from him. And he ended up doing the song with Kate Pierson."

Raw Power is a powerful tribute group to Iggy & the Stooges performed by Seattle musicians Mike McCready, of Pearl Jam; Duff McKagan, of Guns N’ Roses; Barrett Martin, of The Screaming Trees; and Mark Arm, of Mudhoney;. The four paid tribute to the iconic band on top of Seattle's iconic Pike's Market on August 23rd, 2015, in support of KEXPs fundraiser that year.

Common Market's members, DJ/Producer Sabzi (Saba Mohajerjasbi) and MC RA Scion (Ryan Abeo), had been active hip hop artists in the Pacific Northwest for three years before they combined their talents in 2005 to form Common Market. Together they have released two albums, three EPs, and have gone on several tours.
Common Market's Sabzi started his music career with Seattle's Blue Scholars AND is about the city of Seattle.

My Oh My is an ode to legendary Mariners' radio sportscaster Dave Niehaus, who was the play-by-play announcer for the team since their inaugural season in 1977 until his death in 2010. His voice was a staple of the Seattle sports scene and Macklemore describes the memory of listening to Niehaus's historical call of the Mariner's dramatic Division Series win in 1995 as a child. The title of this song refers to Niehaus' signature catchphrase.

Sub Pop 200 is a compilation released in the early days of the Seattle grunge scene It features songs (all of them first releases and some otherwise unattainable) from Tad, the Fluid, Nirvana, Steven "Jesse" Bernstein, Mudhoney, the Walkabouts, Terry Lee Hale, Soundgarden, Green River, Fastbacks, Blood Circus, Swallow, Chemistry Set, Girl Trouble, the Nights and Days, Cat Butt, Beat Happening, Screaming Trees, Steve Fisk, and the Thrown Ups.
Many of these bands went on to be influential in the early 1990s and onwards. Most notable of these were Nirvana, Soundgarden, Green River (who spawned Mudhoney and Mother Love Bone and later Temple of the Dog and Pearl Jam), Screaming Trees, and Mudhoney.
