This 1996 debut single from Primitive Radio Gods was released from the soundtrack to the 1996 black comedy film The Cable Guy and was also included on the band's first album, Rocket. Its chorus consists of a sample from the 1964 B.B. King song "How Blue Can You Get", and the enigmatic lyrics of the song describe a troubling relationship in which two people cannot connect on an emotional level.

My uncle Chuckie Betz passed this past September and today is his birthday- he would have been 73 today.
He was an amazing and generous spirit that lived his life boldly and without compromise. He had an incredible wit and style that left an impression on everyone he met. He is dearly missed.
He spent several years in San Francisco, prominently involved in the 70s LGBTQ scene - working at iconic gay bar The Stud, creating art, and just generally living it up! Now that KEXP broadcasts out there, I thought it would be great to honor his legacy with one of his favorite artists - David Bowie. “Heroes” would be great.

Middle Kids are playing in Seattle at Neumos on June 18th!
Faith Crisis Pt 1 was recorded in five weeks back in June of 2022 in Eastbourne, United Kingdom. During their sessions, the band experimented with synths and organs for the first time.
Hannah Joy shared that -- unlike their previous albums, which were very intertwined with their daily lives, with "snippets written in sound checks, visiting a studio whilst on the road [and] recording vocals after doing the dishes at home" -- during the process of making Faith Crisis Pt 1, they sought separation from daily life and the going-ons of society by "carving out the space and world for making this record, which, yeah, was awesome – but absolutely fried the mainframes." tinyurl.com

This song had been written and the band were soundchecking performances with this before Pablo Honey had come out. Almost made it onto Pablo Honey - but instead was held over to the second LP. An original 4-track demo version has been released on the Long Live Tibet compilation
Noel Gallagher wrote this song in one day. The band had most of Definitely Maybe recorded and mixed at the time but Noel and the guys couldn't agree on which song would be their first single so he wrote this. Alan McGee, who produced the album, wanted "Bring It On Down" to be the first but changed his mind as soon as he heard this.
Guitarist Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs recalled to Q magazine, "We were recording, 'Bring It On Down' and halfway through Noel disappeared into the control room. When he came out, he said, 'Stop the session, I've written a new song.' Within a couple of hours we'd finished 'Supersonic.' That's Noel for you. Put him in a room for 10 minutes, and he'll come out with a classic."
