In a post on Instagram, Russell wrote the song is “a call to all who care about human rights, voting rights, equality, democracy & freedom in Tennessee“ and added "It has never been more important to use our powerful voices & votes in Tennessee. Go and make yourself known! Register! Vote! Rise!”

Heroes holds significance in the early history and formation of the band. Before adopting the name Depeche Mode, the ensemble was known as Composition Of Sound, consisting of Vince Clarke, Andrew Fletcher, and Martin Gore. It was during a rehearsal that they heard singer Dave Gahan performing 'Heroes', leaving them impressed with his rendition and leading to his invitation to join the group.
This was written by great American songwriter Hoagy Carmichael and Stuart Gorrell in 1930. Ray Charles recorded this song on this day in 1958. On April 24, 1979, this became the official state song of Georgia, replacing a song titled "Georgia." Ray Charles performed the song the ceremony that day: bit.ly. Willie Nelson sang this at Charles' funeral in 2004.
Ray Charles was born in Albany, Georgia and moved to Florida as a child. At the age of 5, he began losing his sight gradually; by the age of 7, he was completely blind. In Florida, he studied at the St. Augustine school for the deaf and blind, where he first learned to play the piano. Late guitarist Jeff Beck Jeff Beck joined Wonder on the Talking Book album sessions. Wonder preferred to let other guitarists play on his records, and he liked the idea of a collaboration with Beck. An agreement was quickly made for Beck to become involved in the sessions that became the Talking Book album, in return for Wonder writing him a song.
Between the album sessions, Beck came up with the opening drum beat for this song while Wonder improvised most of the song, including the riff, on the spot. Beck and Wonder created a rough demo for the song that day.
After finishing the song, Wonder decided that he would allow Beck to record "Superstition" as part of their agreement. Originally, the plan was for Beck to release his version of the song first, with his newly formed power trio Beck, Bogert & Appice. However, due to the combination of the trio's debut album getting delayed and Motown CEO Berry Gordy's prediction that "Superstition" would be a huge hit and greatly increase the sales of Talking Book, Wonder released the song as the Talking Book lead single months ahead of Beck's version.

According to Mick Fleetwood in his 1990 autobiography, "Hold Me" was written about Christine McVie's failed relationship with Dennis Wilson of The Beach Boys. During one of the recording sessions, guitarist Lindsey Buckingham suggested that he and McVie perform "Hold Me" as a duet similar to "Don't Stop". The two vocalists sang their parts with the studio windows open over the Paris countryside.
This cover of "She's in Parties" is a song by Bauhaus. It was released in April 1983 as a single in both 7" and 12" format on the Beggars Banquet.

Guitarist Andy Summers said this was the best track he ever played on.
This was the first single from the second Police album, Reggatta De Blanc (which means "White Reggae" in Police-speak). "Message In A Bottle" was when they exploded in Britain; the song went to #1 on September 29, 1979 and stayed for three weeks.
The song was influenced by the church music that Sting used to sing as a child. He explained in Isle of Noises by Daniel Rachel: "I used to sing Gregorian chants and plainsong as an altar boy. A lot of my melodies might reflect that love and my early exposure to that stark, melodic narrative. 'Message In A Bottle' reflects that, too."
