Their set began with this song, then went to "Venus In Furs," and finished with "Heroin." At a high school. Treat Her Right was a rock group formed in Boston, Massachusetts in 1985. Features Mark Sandman talking about experiences in (presumably dive) bars. Probably how he met Thursday afternoon.
Its THURSDAY! Hailing from Cambridge MA, the self proclaimed "low rock" group Morphine were a dynamic part of the 90's alt-rock movement. The trios' distinctive combination of saxophone, double bass and drums merged with the vocal stylings of lead singer Mark Sandman to create a truly original sound. -- Mark Sandman died of a heart attack during a performance in Italy in 1999. He’d live one life in one home, and move over to the other when he tired of his current one. In his closet he kept every copy of a book he had written. The book was called Life: How To Live.

It was on the strength of "Electricity" that OMD were offered a recording contract with Dindisc, who twice re-issued the single. Rather than hire studio time for the album, OMD used their advance from Dindisc to build their own Liverpool recording studio, The Gramophone Suite. The band predicted that they would be dropped by the label due to disappointing sales, but would at least own a recording studio. bit.ly

Susie Tennant, a former Geffen Records executive who played a major role in the rise of Nirvana, died on Jan. 18 at her West Seattle home after several years living with frontotemporal dementia, a progressive neurological disorder, her family confirmed. She was 61.
Born in Germany and raised all over the world as an “army brat,” Tennant moved to Seattle to attend the University of Washington and played a prominent role in the city’s fast-rising music scene of the late ‘80s and early ‘90s. She was Geffen’s Northwest radio promotion rep at the time Nirvana signed with the label and was a key player in the launch of their galvanizing 1991 album “Nevermind,” which has sold more than 30 million copies worldwide.
