Good morning! It was on this day in 2015 when Mike McCready’s Mad Season, featuring Chris Cornell and the Seattle Symphony, recorded the live album Sonic Evolution at Benaroya Hall in Seattle.
This one features the full 60-piece Colorado Symphony, recorded at Boettcher Concert Hall in Denver.

The song title is a univerbation of hoppa í polla (the -a in hoppa is not pronounced), which is Icelandic for "hopping into puddles", and the lyrics are mainly in Icelandic, with some nonsensical phrases, a "language" the band calls Vonlenska ("Hopelandic").
"Be Opened By The Wonderful" is a 20 track album of some of James' most loved and rare tracks, re-imagined with a 22 piece orchestra and 8 piece choir.
This version of "'Sit Down,' perhaps the song most associated with the band, has been given a whole new feel.

I took Family and Medical Leave in October (per my boss's suggestion), but the Monday after Thanksgiving my boss "terminated" my employment out of nowhere. I took it because I was spiraling down into that depression hole. Needless to say, I went right back to that place after being let go. I was devastated and heartbroken after giving so much of my life to a company that just discarded me like I was not worth anything. I'm slowly clawing my way out.
Anyways. I made myself get up early this morning just so I could listen to your show. It's great to hear your voice and listen to all the songs that I didn't know I needed to hear. If you wouldn't mind playing anything from Tears for Fears, I would be beyond grateful.

Hey KEXP it’s Rich in San Diego. I just moved here from Seattle after a sad 20 year marriage and happy divorce. The thing I miss most about Seattle is the KEXP gathering space. Can you play this year by the mountain goats?
Harvey Danger was an American alternative rock formed in 1992 in Seattle, Washington by UW journalism students. Following a series of corporate restructurings that saw the band change record labels, Harvey Danger issued their second studio album, King James Version in 2000, which showed the band moving in a more artistic direction influenced. Although its sole single "Sad Sweetheart of the Rodeo" became a minor hit, the band eventually broke up in 2001 and have since attracted a cult following.
