Good Morning John,
I haven’t written in a while but I am listening all of the time. thank you for continuing to be a real and kind and caring person. and for playing killer music! It's my birthday today and the first since my dad finally found his next chapter after a long bout of Alzheimer’s this past Sunday. As you know with that cruel disease they are gone for a while but its not quite the same as being gone gone. If it fits the show, I would love to hear ‘on the road again’ by Willie Nelson. It's one of the first songs I remember knowing together and a fitting send off. Many thanks and much love.

This song was originally going to be part of a four-track EP. However according to songwriter Charlie Fink, when they took it to their record label, they said: "You should probably do more with this." So they did.
In his memoir, "Beastie Boys Book", Adam "Ad-Rock" Horovitz wrote that "Sabotage" was about sticking it to the album's recording engineer. “I decided it would be funny to write a song about how Mario was holding us all down, how he was trying to mess it all up, sabotaging our great works of art." bit.ly

Chic's Nile Rodgers was in charge of production for this song. His funk influences can be heard throughout the single - for example, the tempo and the use of The Borneo Horns brass section, He also played guitar on the track. -- The band were at something of a crossroads before "Notorious," having lost two members, and they credit Rodgers with revitalizing their career. During a 1986 performance, Duran Duran's frontman Simon Le Bon introduced Rodgers, saying: "This band went through a difficult time and it might not have made it if it weren't for this gentleman."

I read about it a bunch, and to my understanding it was a scenario where a bunch of small errors built up and compounded each other, with the result being a catastrophe out of proportion with any of the individual failures that precipitated it. 10 years ago today I lost my Dad Chuck unexpectedly. It was especially difficult since we lived so close together. I think about him all the time and how proud he would be of his grandkids and how far they have come in life. I think about all the conversations he and I would have had. I miss him! Eddie and I were standing around talking about it afterwards and were teary-eyed. We were so emotionally charged and moved by the imagination and humanity that we felt because of the movie."
