"Exit Music (For a Film)" was originally written for Baz Luhrmann’s 1996 Romeo + Juliet. It plays over the end credits, but didn’t make the official soundtrack.
Recorded at Blueprint Studios in Manchester in celebration of their 40th Anniversary, Be Opened By The Wonderful is a celebration of James' most loved and rare tracks, re-imagined with a 22 piece orchestra and 8 piece choir and including one brand new track, "Love Make a Fool." Says lead singer Tim Booth, "Life begins at 40. For our midlife euphoria we recorded a double orchestral album of some of our deepest cuts."

This song was commissioned by the BBC for their coverage of the 2012 Olympics. Elbow were asked after their "One Day Like This" track was featured in the BBC's coverage of the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The full song lasts six and a half minutes, but it was written in such a way so that it could be divided into different minute or two long elements for use over both winning and losing footages...Guy Garvey doesn't sing on this song, instead Elbow got an especially assembled gospel choir to provide the vocals.

Hey John, thanks for showcasing Big Red Letter Day! Buffalo Tom was my first 21 and over show (at Moes in Seattle) and it was such an incredible experience. From that moment forward, any night of the week I could escape whatever BS was happening and lose myself in loud guitars, singalong choruses and a true sense of joy by witnessing live music. Now that I'm 50 I don't get to as many shows as I used to, but when I do they still have that same sense of community and wonder. Thanks for always being the beacon of hope so many of us need in the morning (especially today with the Frightened Rabbit)!

Written by Lemonheads leader, Evan Dando, "My Drug Buddy" tells an opaque tale of a couple who take a friendly stroll, making arrangements for drugs along the way.
The female backing vocals on this song are by Juliana Hatfield, who also played bass on the album. She released her first solo album, Hey Babe, earlier in 1992. At this point in 1992, The Lemonheads were essentially an Evan Dando solo project.

South Africa-based artist Desire Marea has announced news of a new EP, The Baddies of Isandlwana, alongside the Triana Hernandez directed video (youtu.be) for first track “If You Know.”
The new EP, out on November 9th, 2023 via Mute, will follow a rare tour that will see Desire and his band in the UK and Europe for the first time since an appearance at Grace Jones’ Meltdown festival in London.

Genesis Owusu, is a Ghanaian-Australian singer from Canberra. He is the younger brother of fellow hip hop rapper, Kojo Owusu-Ansah p.k.a. Citizen Kay. Recorded in February 1993 in Cannon Falls, Minnesota. and released later that summer on August 30, “Heart-Shaped Box” is famous for its picked guitar lick and songwriter Kurt Cobain’s growl.
The track, which was produced by Steve Albini—who has also worked with Pixies, Jimmy Page, and Robert Plant throughout his career, was released on Nirvana’s third album, In Utero, which came on the heels of maybe the most famous album of all time, the band’s sophomore offering, Nevermind.

This was The Indigo Girls' first hit song. Emily Saliers describes this track as detailing them paying their dues by playing small venues and working hard "Amy and I used to be a bar band, and we would play 'til 3 a.m. like every night, practically for 13 nights in a row, three sets, finishing at 3 a.m., so I had some early experiences at bars at 3 a.m., certainly."
Before she became famous, Tori appeared in a commercial for Kellogg's "Just Right" cereal, beating out Sarah Jessica Parker, who was also unknown at the time, for the part. Tori played piano in the ad. Kellogg's also makes Corn Flakes.
Tori's record company released a series of Corn Flakes boxes with her picture on them to promote this song to record companies. They are now collector's items.
