Good morning and welcome to the Morning Show with John!
For those who don't know, Mad Season was a supergroup formed in 1994 featuring guitarist Mike McCready of Pearl Jam, lead singer Layne Staley of Alice in Chains, drummer Barrett Martin of Screaming Trees, and bassist John Baker Saunders of The Walkabouts.

From Pearl Jam's debut album, "Release" was one of the first songs Eddie wrote with the band, and it's one that helped them find common ground. "We were strangers, but we were coming from a similar place," said Vedder.

Temple of the Dog is the only album by the American rock band Temple of the Dog, released on April 16, 1991. It is a tribute to Andrew Wood, the former lead singer of Malfunkshun and Mother Love Bone, who died on March 19, 1990, of a heroin overdose.
Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell, who had been Mother Love Bone vocalist Andrew Wood's roommate, approached former Mother Love Bone members Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament about working on material he had written when he was on tour with Soundgarden in Europe. The line-up eventually included Soundgarden drummer Matt Cameron and newcomers Mike McCready (lead guitar) and Eddie Vedder (background vocals).
This song was written by the late Van Conner and the late Mark Lanegan.

Recorded on January 30th, 2015 at Benaroya Hall, it features Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready, Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament, Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan, Chris Cornell, drummers Barrett Martin and Matt Cameron and, of course, Seattle Symphony

This song was written shortly before the band went into Ridge Farm Studios in Surrey in January 1985 to record it. It was mixed later in the month at Utopia Studios in Primrose Hill. The Smiths (mostly Johnny Marr) acted as producers, with Stephen Street as recording engineer.

The original band members were: Dale Bozzio (vocals), Terry Bozzio (drums), Warren Cuccurullo (guitar), Patrick O'Hearn (bass), and Chuck Wild (keyboards). "The video shows the band playing in an audition in a high school gymnasium, with different light filters changing the color of the room. Karen O's crying in the video was not staged. She explains: "They were real tears. My boyfriend at the time (Angus Andrew [of the band Liars]) was supposed to come to the shoot – he was three hours late and I was just about to leave for tour. I didn't think he was even going to come and this was the song that was written for him. He eventually showed up and I got myself in a real emotional state." Some have suggested the song title stands for “My Angus Please Stay,” though this was never confirmed by the band."
