Joan Jett's wonderful cover of the Tommy James & The Shondells 1968 classic.
Crimson and Clover has been covered by many artists including Cher (as a duet with her son), Prince, and Curtis Harding - which we just heard.
Many people think “I Love Rock 'n' Roll” is written by Joan Jett.
Her rendition being the most popular, but it was actually written and recorded by Alan Merrill and a U.K.-based group, Arrows.
"Mind on the Road" by Rev Run sampled Joan Jett & the Blackhearts's "I Love Rock 'N' Roll", which we just heard.

Michael Nesmith wrote this song before he joined The Monkees. It was first recorded by The Paul Butterfield Blues Band - and covered/sampled by Run-D.M.C.
"I'm a Believer" is a song written by Neil Diamond and recorded by the Monkees in 1966 with the lead vocals by Micky Dolenz.
Diamond performed this on The Johnny Cash Show, where he explained: "This song was written about a revival meeting I was at in Jackson, Mississippi. I went there because I was curious, and also because I was a college kid who had all the answers - no one was going to teach me anything and I could lay a few answers on them. I sat in the back of this tent meeting and I got really caught up in the music - clapping, the singing - tremendously exciting."

Happy birthday to Butch Vig! The American musician, songwriter, and record producer, best known as the drummer and co-producer of the alternative rock band Garbage and the producer of the diamond-selling Nirvana album Nevermind, was born on this day in 1955.
