A little dose of history: There's controversy regarding who created the trench coat. Invention of the trench coat is claimed by two British luxury clothing manufacturers, Burberry and Aquascutum, with Aquascutum's claim dating back to the 1850s, while Thomas Burberry had invented gabardine fabric in 1879 and submitted a design for a British Army officer's raincoat to the War Office in 1901.
From LCD Soundsystem's debut album. The video for "Tribulations" was first aired in August 2005. It was directed by Dougal Wilson and produced by Colonel Blimp. Good morning! Today is my partner Christa's birthday. We live in the Udistrict. If you can squeeze "Angelica" by Wet Leg into the set it would mean a lot to her. Thanks so much for trying to squeeze in this request! Bringing lasagna to a party (like in the song) is totally something she would do.

Zonoscope is the third studio album by Australian electronic music band Cut Copy.
The album was recorded over a six-month period in a warehouse space in Fairfield, Melbourne, which was littered with discarded vintage recording gear and instruments. "There was no Internet in there, barely any heat, nothing, just f*cking industrial Melbourne", said guitarist Tim Hoey. "We just knew we could kind of go into there and not feel pressured. We were just kind of locked in there by ourselves, and we couldn't have had it sounding how it sounds without us going in there."
Zonoscope was nominated for Best Dance/Electronica Album at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards in 2012.

via Bandcamp: "Kristin Hersh’s new album is a cinematic road trip; a series of personal vignettes from a fiercely independent auteur, sitting plush with layers of all-consuming strings and mellotron. It’s a watershed moment in a career overflowing with creative firsts and inspirational thinking; an elegant piece of personal reportage, a home movie caught in time. The album releases August, 8 2023."

A Song for Leon (A Tribute to Leon Russell) comes out Sept. 8th, which includes Margo Price’s version of “Stranger in a Strange Land.”
“I’ve always loved Leon Russell’s vibe and approach to music and life in general,” Price says in the announcement. “I completely fell in love with him after watching the documentary by Les Blank called A Poem Is a Naked Person. I had the pleasure of briefly meeting him at a show many years ago in the hallway. I always remember what he said during the live interview that day, which was that ‘It was his job to misinform the press.’ He was an old man at the time, but I’ll never forget how mischievous he seemed.”
After recording “Stranger in a Strange Land” for this project, Price says, she’s been including it in many of her live shows.

Explosions in the Sky have announced their seventh studio album "End", out in September. The new single "Ten Billion People" was released yesterday.
Here’s what the band says about the album in a press release:
Our starting point was the concept of an ending — death, or the end of a friendship or relationship. Every song comes from a story, or an idea one of us has had that we’ve all expanded on and made its own world. Maybe it’s our nature, but we kept feeling that the album title was ultimately open to a lot more interpretation. The end of a thing or a time can mean a stop, but it can also mean a beginning, and what happens after one thing ends might pale in comparison to what it becomes next.

Thanks,
