This was released ten years before Sia started hiding under he famous wig. Even then, she did very little press and often suppressed her image. Her picture doesn't appear on the album cover.
In the video The making of Colour the Small One, Sia says: "'Breathe Me' is about feeling worried, generally anxious. Being overwhelmed by your own inner dialogue and having some sort of conniption fit and potentially doing yourself some harm, then asking for help."

The song was first recorded by Dionne Warwick in the fall of 1962, Dusty Springfield, who had heard the Warwick album track, recorded "Wishin' and Hopin'" in January 1964.
Opener and lead single “The Likes of Us” documents the state of things (“Oblivion howls for these gutted streets / Boarded shops cower in defeat”) but sublimates observations into a mantra of resolve (“I won’t let this spark die in me”). It heralds Versions of Us as the band’s most cohesive and concise record yet, with its pervading sense of empowerment encapsulated in Wilde’s startling vocal performances. Her voice soars with previously unheard force on an album austere in its beauty, with its shifting sands of searing guitar, fluttering vintage synths and swarming melodic lines, topped with glistening strings from Angela Chan.

Good morning, John! I hope you're having a great morning! I'm seeing the Yeah Yeah Yeahs tonight for the first time after ALL these years of listening. If you can squeeze in a YYY's song, I would be most giddy! Haha. Happy Wednesday & thank you for all you!

Hey John! I was wondering if you could play Roland by Interpol off of Turn On The Bright Lights. I recently watched that Meet Me In The Bathroom documentary with my Dad and that record was talked about a lot in that doc. I remember my Dad got that CD for a lot of people when it came out in 2002, and for Father’s Day I plan on getting him that album on vinyl (to repay him for his good deeds, hopefully). Much love from Columbus OH! Love the show.

Good morning, my friends. Friday will be the 5th anniversary of the day my magical friend, Darryl died. There’s a whole planet of people who miss him terribly. If you have a chance to play any Sex Pistols song today in his honor, I'd really appreciate it.
NYC indie singer/songwriter Tom D’Agustino made their debut as Homeschool in 2021. Their new EP "Just Now" is out now. D'Agustino shared with Under the Radar Magazine: “The bulk of these songs were written as one-off experiments where I tried to really question what it was I wanted out of music and out of my day-to-day experience of life.” www.undertheradarmag.com

Rob Dickinson gave an interview in 2006 in which he describes "crank" as being British slang for an odd or eccentric person. When he sings "call me crank," he's actually referring to how he views himself and that he's comfortable in acknowledging that he's a bit unusual.: bit.ly
This song is first and foremost about a destructive relationship that is addictive. A man is in love with a woman who he knows is bad for him. Their passion is shown in several different ways ("This bed is on fire with passionate love," "Fought with kitchen knives and skewers").
Brian Eno produced the album.
