R.E.M. guitarist Peter Buck wasn’t needed on the track, but he recalled the song’s creation: “Being competitive bastards that we are, Mike and I started auditioning chord changes and tunes for Michael,” he said. “Mike had a piano instrumental that he played to Michael. He listened once, nodded his head to hear it again, and on the second pass he sang the lyrics. It was ‘Nightswimming,’ exactly like the record we would record a year later. "Hljómalind" was a record store in Reykjavík which was run by Kristinn "Kiddi Kanína" Sæmundsson, the band's then-manager. The record shop started out as a mail-order operation, partially run from the Reykjavík flea market Kolaportið. It was for a time Iceland's only Indie Rock record store. The shop moved two times before ending up on Laugavegur 21, where it ran for many years before closing in 2003.[2] The organic co-op café Kaffi Hljómalind later opened on the premises. The Hljómalind house is currently occupied by Kaffibrennslan, a café and sandwich shop. The name "Hljómalind" is made up of two words, "hljóma-", which means sounds or chords, and "-lind", which means fountain, spring or well. It could be translated as "a wellspring of sounds" or "a fountain of music"

Exit Planet Dust is the debut studio album by English electronic music duo The Chemical Brothers. It was first released on 26 June 1995 in the United Kingdom by Junior Boy's Own, Freestyle Dust, and Virgin Records, and on 15 August 1995 in the United States by Astralwerks. Title track off the fifth studio album from the Scottish band, released in 1988.
Writing credit is given to Attrell Cordes (Prince Be of P.M. Dawn) and Gary Kemp of Spandau Ballet, as the song is built around samples of their 1983 hit "True," as well as samples from The Soul Searchers' "Ashley's Roachclip." The main drumbeat also samples from Eric B. & Rakim's "Paid in Full".
The lyrics for this song were inspired by a crush Spandau Ballet's Gary Kemp had on Altered Images singer and Gregory's Girl star Clare Grogan: "I was infatuated with Clare Grogan," he told The Guardian. "I met her on Top of the Pops and, at one point, travelled up to Scotland to have tea with her and her mum and dad."
According to Gary Kemp, the feelings were unrequited and their relationship was platonic, however, it was enough to inspiration to write this song.
. “Lovely Day” was written and produced by Withers, with co-songwriter on the track being Skip Scarborough. who worked with Earth, Wind & Fire, Patti Labelle, LTD, and many other R&B stars before his death in 2003. In an interview with Bill Withers, he explained: "Skip was a very nice, gentle man. The way Skip was, every day was just a lovely day. He was an optimist. If I had sat down with the same music and my collaborator had been somebody else with a different personality, it probably would have caused something else to cross my mind lyrically. It was a combination of the music and the person and the ambiance in the room."

Lizzo co-wrote the self-loving anthem with Ricky Reed. This was one of the first songs Lizzo made with Reed. She recalled they were still at the stage when they were checking out their chemistry with each other. Reed played her a piano riff and asked how it made her feel. Lizzo replied that it brought to mind the pink sweater emoji girl with the hair toss. Then the next thing she thought of was checking her nails. "It was a natural statement that came out my mouth," Lizzo said.
Reed then responded with the phrase "feeling good as hell." After that, the lyrics rolled out easily.

The third single from the goth rock band's second studio album is about the fall of an empire and the aftermath of war. The title refers to Lucretia Borgia of the prominent Borgia family of the Italian Renaissance, who were notorious for their ruthless political tactics and alleged crimes.
Lucretia herself is often cited as a murderer with a penchant for poison. Lead singer Andrew Eldritch wrote the track for bandmate Patricia Morrison (bass), who "always strikes me as a Lucrezia [Borgia]-type person."

Bassist Mick Quinn told Uncut magazine about his contribution to the song. "I think Danny and Gaz cooked up the verse and the chorus - they'll always argue about who came up with that piano," he recalled. "Then I came along and said, well, you need a middle 8. And I took it to G and Gaz did that very rock-and-roll solo over the top, and then I came up with the idea of doing that Peter Green bending solo, and Gaz came up with a harmony for that. We always wrote a lot of lyrics in the pub as we were recording."

Tinariwen have announced a new album, Amatssou ,which will be out May 19 via Wedge. The album was originally to be made in Nashville at Third Man, but it ended up being made remotely due to the pandemic, with help from producer Daniel Lanois, and country musicians Wes Corbett and Fats Kaplin.
