"The song describes a time in everybody’s life that make you lose faith in yourself, in someone else, or in life itself and you just need to hear from someone that one day everything will be OK again. That no matter what, with time and patience we all will be OK.” - bit.ly
In 1987 Bono explained that everybody in the group knows what the line "and you give yourself away" means: "It's about how I feel in U2 at times - exposed. I'm not going to do many interviews this year. Because there's a cost to my personal life, and a cost to the group as well." - bit.ly

Hi John!
I wear my You Are Not Alone tshirt all the time. Sometimes people say the words out loud, and of course, I’ve forgotten what I’m wearing … it’s funny and awesome and reinforces the phrase to anybody within earshot. A trick or treater did it Sunday night, and added “yah, you’re not alone … we’re all here together”
How about “All My Friends” for that kiddo and all of us.
Be well my friend,
Jared
Morning John
I’m feeling in a kind of Young Fathers vibe today!

Hey John. It's a sad morning. On my way home to be with my dad Victor before he dies. He asked to be taken off oxygen. He will die like he lived - with wisdom and gentle dignity, sharing his love with others. I could use some Alexi Murdoch - you know the track. He was a teacher for 35 years in Canada. Husband of 64 years. dad and grandfather. Thanks.
Chuck

Hi there!
My name’s Pasha and this is the most postponed premiere ever.
I’m the singer/songwriter in ARTEMIEV, a Russian band from Moscow. Five years ago we’ve recorded an English EP, it is called Symptom of life. I never knew how to promote it really.
I would be honored if you’d find time to listen.
Thanks
Pasha
According to vocalist Ian Devaney, 'In some ways “The Grey Commute” is one of the more upbeat songs of the record, but in truth it’s one that was born out of much more depressing stuff. As I was working on the lyrics I had a kind of fixation on terrible tax policies, our cultural addiction to meaningless consumption, and it all got swept together into this punchy, kind of fun track.' - bit.ly
