This final release by Talking Heads appears on the soundtrack for the 1991 film Until the End of the World. The song was later released on the compilations Once in a Lifetime: The Best of Talking Heads and Sand in the Vaseline: Popular Favorites. It was released again in 2005 as a bonus track on the remastered edition of the Talking Heads' Naked.
Vocalist Ian Devaney says: "(it) was born out of ... depressing stuff. As I was working on the lyrics I had a kind of fixation on terrible tax policies, our cultural addiction to meaningless consumption, and it all got swept together into this punchy, kind of fun track.
To give a sense of time: the Republican tax plan, under which we’re currently living, was just being passed and it was pretty clear just how mind-bendingly stupid it was. Such deep cuts to the taxes of the hyper-wealthy and corporations were both shocking and not shocking at all, and it was difficult to comprehend that anyone thought it wouldn’t lead to the exacerbation of the inequality and instability that defines our time. But here we are."

Beirut have announced a new double album of unreleased track, called Artifacts. It arrives January 28 via frontman Zach Condon’s own Pompeii Records. He says "This song was written while staying on the coast of Connecticut, on the Fisher Island Sound. I played with the lines for years (and) struggled ...to put vocals on the songs and ended up scrapping a lot of the music from that era in this part of the collection due to fear, stress and self-doubt. I’ve come to rediscover some of these old songs in a different light since then, but they do remain a heavy reminder of unsteady times."
Good morning John! Last night I had the opportunity to see Foo Fighters play Climate Pledge (I was wearing my KEXP shirt, of course). Being back in a venue with other music lovers was amazing. Foo Fighters kicked ass! Dave opened the show with 'Times like These' and the lyrics 'It's times like these you learn to live again

"Cloudbusting" is about the very close relationship between psychologist and philosopher Wilhelm Reich and his young son, Peter, told from the point of view of the mature Peter. It describes the boy's memories of his life with Reich on their family farm, called Orgonon where the two spent time "cloudbusting", a rain-making process which involved using a machine designed and built by Reich - a machine called a cloudbuster - to point at the sky. The song was inspired by Peter Reich's 1973 memoir, 'A Book of Dreams'. - bit.ly
"'I Will Follow' came out of a screaming argument in the rehearsal room," Bono recalls in the book U2 by U2. "I remember trying to make a sound I heard in my head, and taking Edge's guitar from him and hammering away.
