Hi John,
I don’t usually ask for a song, but I’m facing a hard but important set of changes in my life, moving forward on employment but away from time with my kids. If you could work So Lonely by The Police in, that would be awesome.
I wear the pin on my (fedora) hat to remember and spread your message.. that we are not alone. It means so much to me.
Best wishes, Ellery
Hi John!
I'm back with an update: against all odds, our offer was accepted!! At the risk of total greediness, can I ask you to play us a celebratory song? Maybe Tears for Fears or Talking Heads or Depeche Mode or something spectacular from the '80s? Or whatever you want! We listen to your show every day and I can't imagine my life without it.
Thank you for the positive vibes and excellent tunes!

We just got a note from our pals at Barsuk Records that Satuday was the 20th anniversary of Coney Island (Band Demo) by Death Cab For Cutie and in honor of this amazing release, they are announcing a 20th Anniversary reissue of the album. On October 29th Barsuk will be releasing a newly remastered 35-track version of the album which will includes the original album, The Stability EP AND a bunch of previously unavailable b-sides and compilation tracks, band demos, acoustic radio sessions, alternate lyrics, and never-before-heard studio outtakes from the era.
The first track (and only pre-release track) they are putting out is an alternate version of Coney Island – titled “Coney Island (Band Demo)” and they wanted to make sure KEXP had it before the rest of the world heard it.
